The KCBS (Kansas City Barbeque Society) Master Series is the most popular type of sanctioned barbecue competition, requiring teams to cook four meat categories (chicken, pork ribs, pork butt, and brisket) using wood, wood pellets, or charcoal.
Teams entered in the Spencerville Smoke Ring KCBS Master Series competition will be able to arrive at the Spencerville fair grounds as early as 7:00am on Saturday September 27th. Early bird arrival on Friday from 4:00pm to 8:00pm also available.
Power, Water and restroom facilities will be provided to all competitors.
The cooks meeting will take place at 5:00pm on the Saturday. Further evening activities will be added as we get closer to the date of the competition.
Judging will start at noon on Sunday. The four (4) KCBS categories will be judged in the following order:
CHICKEN NOON (12:00 pm)
PORK RIBS 12:30 pm
PORK 1:00 pm
BEEF BRISKET 1:30 pm
